Several of us spoke at the Feb 22 Public Works Committee and Public Health Committee.

The Public Works Committee moved to discuss the issue in two weeks, while Public Safety Committee members Jean Quan (Montclair-Laurel) and Larry Reid (Elmhurst-East Oakland) voted in favor of forwarding it to the full City Council. The  issue will go before the council March 15.

  • Read the comments of the other petition signers:

  • Non Toxic Weed Control WORKS !

  • The Pesticides are NOT being proposed as a LAST RESORT.

  • It's not a limited application - there is no limit on the number of applications, on the amount of pesticide, on the proxity to people.

  • The ordinance does not say "no spraying". In fact, backpack spraying is planned for many plants

  • The voters did not agree to TOXIC fire prevention methods.

  • The city plan appears to cause erosion and be a waste of tax payer money.
